Israel’s policies and measures in the Palestinian territories undermine the security and stability of the entire region, a Palestinian official said on Wednesday.
Israel’s policies that tamper with security and stability in Palestine will escalate the situation, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, the spokesperson of the Palestinian presidency, said in a statement.
The official made the remarks in response to the Israeli army’s operations in Palestinian towns, cities and refugee camps and storming of Palestinian homes.
On Wednesday, 85 Palestinians were injured, including eight shot by live ammunition, during clashes that broke out in the Balata refugee camp close to the West Bank city of Nablus, according to Palestinian medics.
The Israeli army raided a Palestinian apartment and an office that belongs to the Fatah movement in the refugee camp. It said the places were used for manufacturing homemade bombs.
The Israeli government continues its policies to drag the region into violence by invading Palestinian cities, villages and camps, said Abu Rudeineh.
He called on the United States “to intervene immediately to stop this Israeli madness that seeks to destroy everything.”
Since January, 27 people, most of them Israelis, have been killed in a series of attacks by Palestinians, and more than 200 Palestinians, including children and women, were killed by Israeli soldiers and settlers, according to official figures.
